E. MARTIN PEDERSEN

In the Bowels

In the bowels of the earth
A molten metal ball
Shining mercury silver
Hot and radioactive
As if the earth had eaten
Too much tuna fish
From over in the Fukushima Daiichi general area
Where there's been some ionic stress lately
Making digestion difficult
Trapped
Gassy-ocious
Heavy metals lead and arsenic
Sinking to the bottom
Linger and fester
In a colon that's been blocked for 200 billion years
Waiting for the next big bang.
