Reacaire

Somewhere in the corner of language...
—Julie Flanders

The scent of unread fields... Eternity
is hard of hearing.
Trash barges of an ideology
earth up our ears.

Our allegiances survive as hearts.
Brown ice of cedars. Triangulation.
What's the lo-call number
for the nearest time stretch?

We live the daily funeral,
the panic of atoms. Language
has many corners
sprinkled with birds' early light.

Your snow perfume, the dead warmth
of your body... A sick man
with his sack of stories
under the round book of the moon.

Reacaire: reciter of poems (Irish Gaelic)

Calabria (1)

Among ruins, you are whole
even if your geometry is slightly porous

Some minds carry knotted ideas, a few
abuse them religiously

Somebody
approached me one monastic morning
somebody with heavy eyelids and a tail
I think his name was telegraph
I hid in multi-story egocentric presentism

Time is a roofless edifice
it calculates in calabrese
while you tarantella
from reasons to consequences

Cats carry a sky leg
to divide it
between their shadows

Having committed himself
to a coast-long punishment
Herodotus caresses history
the way man pets his poems

Calabria (2)

Tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow
what will you say to me
in your magnetic Faraday voice?

Somebody is reading us
at this very moment
somebody's walking across
the back catalogue of time errors
The past is a fubsy mother
the future a negligent nurse

House walls disclose
the bibliography of winters
to the red belligerence of this afternoon
There are colours in every goblet
two silhouettes kiss
from east to west

You can sun your consciousness
on the grinding sand
day in and day out
